[New Bar] Lowlands bar to open up in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Location: 543 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215

UPDATE:  Lowlands Bar opened it’s doors for business Friday, March 27th

Yet another beer notch on the growing Gowanus belt.  I just passed by the old Karate dojo on 3rd Ave and 14th Street in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood when I saw a break in the window coverings, the new bar is coming along very nicely.  New owners are hoping that the bar will be open by mid April (here’s hoping) and they will be calling the bar ‘Lowlands’ aptly named considering they are located at the lower part of Park Slope’s Slope!

I am pretty sure that the owners know what they are doing, they already own the successful Abilene bar at 442 Court Street which is just 15 minutes walk away.  Fingers crossed they will be bringing in some of their specials from Abilene.

I’m now counting 6 bars located on or just off Brooklyn’s industrious 3rd Ave; Hanks Saloon, Canal Bar, The Bell House, Bar Tano, Draft Barn and now Lowlands.  With all 6 bars offering something very different from each other, I think that makes for a decent pub crawl to me.  Anyone want to join me?
